Sensa Weight Loss: Does the “Sensa Diet” Work?

Sensa Weight Loss: Does the “Sensa Diet” Work?

Endorsed by Octavia Spencer, Academy Award-winning actress, Sensa is one of the most controversial dieting products available on the market. Discover what the Sensa weight loss system is based on and find out if it’s right for you.

“Sensa changed my life, not my lifestyle. I lost 20 pounds”, claims Octavia Spencer regarding the dieting product that’s added to solid foods to trick the dieter into eating less.

How Does Sensa Weight Loss Work?

According to Alan Hirsch MD, neurologist and author, sprinkling Sensa on your food can lead to a weight loss of over 30 pounds in only 6 months.

Sensa consists of flavor-enhancing flakes, that are supposed to use your sense of them into tricking your brain and stomach to believe you’re full.

What Does Sensa Contain?

The Sensa weight loss system is based on the sprinkles which come in many different flavors: from salty Cheddar cheese, onion, horseradish, ranch dressing, taco and Parmesan cheese to sweet cocoa, spearmint, banana strawberry, raspberry, and malt.

Sensa diet flakes are calorie-free, sugar-free and sodium-free. They contain a mixture of phosphate, Tricalcium, Maltodextrin, silica and soy, along with milk ingredients and carmine. Sensa does not contain gluten, drugs, stimulants and MSG.

Sensa Weight Loss Medical Evidence

So far, most of the credibility of Sensa isn’t shared by the international medical community. Studies commissioned by Alan Hirsch MD show that participants lost an average of 15% of their body weight in 6 months. However, the only study published in a medical journal that links the sense of smell to appetite has proved that volunteers using an aroma inhaler lost an average of 2% of their body weight.

Pros and Cons of the Sensa Diet

Losing weight without changing your dietary habits or exercising would be the biggest proof the Sensa diet. If the flakes manage to trick you into eating less, you can lose weight over the recommended 6 months of treatment, but there’s not guarantee that weight gain won’t follow once you stop using Sensa.

The Sensa weight loss system only works for solid foods, not semi-solid foods and liquids, but unlike other diet systems it doesn’t seem to have any health risks involved. Allergies to any of the components may produce strong reactions in dieters, including those who are lactose intolerant, but otherwise the worst thing that seems to happen on the Sensa diet would be little to no weight loss.
