Worst Foods for Your Skin

Sugary Food

Sugary foods are some of the worst foods for your face skin. And the reason is that sugar weakens the immune system, making it less able to fight disease and bacteria, some of which are responsible for skin inflammation and acne.

What is more, high blood sugar affects the collagen, the tissue ensuring that your skin looks young and supple.

Salty Food

Salty food is the one making your eyes look puffy in the morning. You should also know that salt is one of the culprits of major acne problems. Try to avoid fast food and processed food and add as little salt as possible in your home cooked meals.

Fried Food

Fried food, be it French fries or oil fried meat, is very bad for your skin. The main reason is that, when exposed to high temperatures, oils oxidize and then build up on your body, causing bad circulation, inflammation (hence acne) and heart problems.

Processed Food

Processed food is listed also among those nasty bad foods for your skin. Why? Because, during processing, this kind of food loses almost all its nutrients. And when your body doesn’t get the right amount of nutrients, disease – and bad looking skin – set in.

Dairy

Dairy is bad for your skin especially when you buy it from the supermarket – in other words, when it’s filled with hormones. Drink milk with moderation, precisely because of this particular reason, but don’t shy away from yoghurt!

High Glycemic Food

High glycemic foods are white bread, pasta, cakes, and they are known to cause spikes in blood sugar, which in turn translate into acne breakouts.

Alcohol

You should also drink alcohol in moderation if you want healthy, glowing skin! And why is that? Because alcohol – just like coffee – is a diuretic that causes dehydration. Since your skin needs plenty of water to be healthy and avoid premature wrinkle formation, you may want to cut on the alcohol consumption!
