Isabel Marant served up a relaxed yet chic ready-to-wear collection at Paris Fashion Week for the upcoming cold season. The famous French designer doesn’t disappoint and brings a wide range of uber-cool ensembles with an effortlessly hip yet super-feminine touch. This time, Marant’s main source of inspiration for fall 2020 seems to have been the late 19th-century cowgirls. “I love the way they were wearing very masculine trousers to ride horses with lace shirts,” the designer said before the show.
Think western toughness meeting French chicness in a collection featuring rugged jeans, leather ankle boots, but also flirty miniskirts and dainty blouses. Marant’s models were walking down the runway wearing spectacular floral-embroidered cardigan jackets, oversized coats, cropped skinny pants, ruffled skirts and dresses, lace shirts, and point-toe pumps with cutout details and embroidered leather cowboy boots.
What’s Isabel Marant’s recipe for success? Besides those sexy legs, everything in the new collection screams maximum femininity and a special understated elegance. Red, gray, ivory, military green, black, navy, and pink tones encapsulated Isabel Marant’s RTW fall 2020 collection. Moreover, this season’s inspiration led to fringes, intricate detailing including that seriously lovely floral embroidery, broderie anglaise, lace-up silhouettes and two-tone coloring.
As usual, the renowned French designer manages to perfectly balance femininity and a particular casual feel for enviably stylish carefree looks. According to Marant, the collection started with “this idea of the strong woman, who’s a bit of a pioneer, and resembles the woman who inspires me.” And it was a great opportunity to have fun and work on something a little bit more feminine without losing that specific Isabel Marant spirit. The result? Have a look at the Isabel Marant fall 2020 collection and get inspired!
