L’Atelier de Givenchy is a new fragrance line that includes seven high end scent inspired by the fashion house’s gorgeous creations. Each of the scents evokes a different mood.
The luxury brand looked at fashion archives dating from 2020 to 2020 for inspiration for the new scents and associated a fun fashion sketch to each of the perfumes created by Givenchy perfume expert Françoise Donche in collaboration with Firmenich’s Pierre Négrin, Symrise’s Alexis Dadier, Takasago’s Françoise Caron, Firmenich’s Nathalie Lorson International Flavors & Fragrance’s Sophie Labbé and Symrise’s Emilie Coppermann.
The seven scents included in the new L’Atelier de Givenchy fragrance line are: Ambre Tigré, Bois Martial, Cuir Blanc, Chypre Caresse, Néroli Originel, Oud Flamboyant and Ylang Austral.
Here’s a closer look at the mood each of these scents evoke and the notes they are defined by:
The Ambre Tigré perfume is “a call for passion” and it’s meant to evoke “the bewitching, magnetic sensuality of Givenchy”. Among the scent’s key notes are amber, vanilla and labdanum.
The Bois Martial scent is meant to be a reflection of the fashion house’s more androgynous creations. It is also one of the most surprising scents of the new line as it features a note that’s rarely used for perfumes: coconut wood. In addition to this unexpected note, the new scent also includes pineapple sage and notes of cedar wood.
The Cuir Blanc fragrance includes notes of white pepper, musk and leather and it’s meant to be a reflection of French luxury.
The Chypre Caresse perfume is defined by notes of lemon, jasmine, angelica and patchouli and it’s meant to be a fresh, delicate and timeless scent.
The Néroli Originel fragrance is dedicated to one of the most beloved fashion icons of all time, Audrey Hepburn, who was also Hubert de Givenchy’s first muse. It’s a floral scent which combines accords of Tunisian neroli, iris, musk and vanilla.
The Oud Flamboyant scent combines accords of laudanum, leather and oud and it’s meant to evoke the creativity and the desire for excellence that define the fashion house.
The Ylang Austral perfume features mandarin leaf, ylang-ylang and sandalwood notes and it’s meant to an exotic, chic yet radical scent that exudes luxury.
The new L’Atelier de Givenchy fragrance collection is currently available at Harrods, where each of the new 100 ml scents retails for £140. In the US, the new Givenchy fragrance line will be sold at Saks Fifth Avenue starting with April 16.
