Alexa Chung and cosmetics company Eyeko have teamed up for a makeup line. The new Alexa Chung for Eyeko makeup collection represents the ‘It’ girl’s first foray into cosmetics and is a limited edition range which will be sold as a gift set. The 29-year-old star aims to help her fans get her signature cat eye makeup look. She was involved in every step of the process, from creating the new products to packaging. Those cute drawings you see are hers.
She didn’t miss the chance to express her excitement for her new role as Eyeko creative consultant : “I’m really excited to be working with Eyeko. It is probably no secret I’m a big fan of the cat-eye eyeliner flick and after trying many different brands Eyeko definitely is the best in creating my favourite 60s look.”
What makes the new Alexa Chung makeup line special? Well, she made sure the new line would match her needs and would perform the way she always wanted: “Creating a water resistant mascara was important for me because it’s almost always raining wherever I am! Also I apply make-up in the morning and hope it lasts all day and all night. I’m fairly lazy when it comes to reapplying, so a lasting mascara that was cry and sweat-proof was a must for me,” she told Vogue UK. Moreover, the new formula also features vitamins A and E, keratin, ginkgo biloba and botanical proteins.
The new eyeliner, Eye Do, is an opaque black shade and it’s extremely long-wearing: “…Eyeko’s eyeliner is the best in the business. I think it’s very easy to apply because it’s similar to a felt tip pen and is easy to travel with so you can take it on the plane or for sleepovers in your bag,” she added.
The new Alexa Chung for Eyeko gift set will be out on November 14 and will be sold at Selfridges, for £35. The limited edition makeup line will only be available in the US starting with January for $39.50. But this is not the only notable project the star has worked on this year. Her first literary effort, the book “It” was recently released and is available on Amazon.com.
