Cat and Cat Paws Halloween Nail Art Tutorial

Halloween is my favourite time of the year and it’s always a great theme for nail art. Ghosts, witches and pumpkins are always present but another great Halloween theme is a black cat. The main theme of this manicure is a black cat looking at the moon, accompanied by cat paws. It is very easy to achieve and the end result is very cute.

What you will need is a bright nail polish as a base (I used orange to match the Halloween theme but any bright colour will do), black acrylic paint, black nail polish, a fine nail art brush, a dotting tool (or a toothpick if you don’t have one) and a topcoat to seal the design. Optionally, some black glitter nail polish to create an accent nail.

First you paint your nails with the bright orange. When the nail polish has dried, using the nail art brush and the acrylic paint, carefully paint a cat on your finger. Add the moon and the ground.

Then using the dotting tool, draw the cat paws. Draw the foot using the bigger end of the dotting tool and then the fingers using the smaller end of the dotting tool. Wait for a few minutes and then seal everything with a top coat. Your Halloween nails are done!

Over the years I have done quite a few Halloween themed manicures. Here are my favourites: orange and black polka dots, pink and black witches and pumpkins, zombie nails and sparkly skulls. All of them are very easy to achieve using simple things like crackle nail polish, nail decals, a dotting tool or a nail art striper over a base colour.
