This fall, it’s all about shiny metallic shades, whether you choose gold, silver or copper you will shine and your nails will look amazing. At Monique Lhuillier, manicurists used Essie Over the Edge ($8).
Oxblood
Fall is the perfect time to switch from the summerish cherry shade to crimson. This deep color (partially purple and partially brown) was used by Reem Acra or Naeem Khan in their fashion shows. It brings an intense and sophisticated look. Also, at Cynthia Rowley, runway models’ nails were dyed in Deborah Lippmann Dark Side of the Moon ($17).
All Black
Fall 2020 seems to be the time to turn back to black. For example, Karen Walker used for her show the OPI Black Onyx topped with a new OPI Matte Top Coat ($8 each). At Kaelen, there were used two coats of butter LONDON Union Jack in Black ($8) that were covered with a matte top coat which made them look very glossy.
Surreal Art
This fall, not only fashion has taken a surrealist approach to style, but also the nail polish industry. Katie Gallagher has opted for them for her 2020 fall runway because her intention was to show the natural nail and show some skin. For the show, manicurists used three shades of gray and black that made you think of snow falling on a winter’s night.
