Jason Wu for Lancome Makeup Collection Sneak Peek

The upcoming Jason Wu x Lancome makeup collection set to be released during New York Fashion Week is without a doubt one of the most awaited makeup releases of the year. It seems like 2020 is the year when prolific fashion designers are extending their area of influence to beauty products. After the much awaited debut of the Marc Jacobs beauty line, the newest designer makeup collaboration has proven that it’s these projects that spark an even higher interest from fashion and style addicts.

The designer views his new project as an important step in his career: “It feels like a very important step for me in the beauty world, and it’s going to be an exciting new chapter for my collection and my career,” he told WWD.com. “If you look back at all my shows, the beauty aspect has always been very important. I’m not a ‘no-makeup makeup’ kind of a person. There’s always a look.”

He feels that makeup is a crucial part of his fashion shows and teamed up with Lancome precisely because he feels the brand resonates with his beliefs on many levels: “I think makeup is one of the closest parts to fashion — it goes hand in hand in almost every single case. When you have great hair and makeup, it brings out the clothes even more. This project feels very organic to me and is one of my favorite collaborations that I’ve ever done. In so many ways Lancôme shares a lot of the same DNA as my brand — it’s feminine and there’s something quite classic about it that never gets old. I see those qualities within my own designs.”

The designer used several of the products from the new line on the runway already. In fact every single girl who walked on the Jason Wu fall 2020 runway wore makeup products from the Jason Wu x Lancome line. The designer’s favorite product from the new line is by far, the violet eyeshadow. “It’s one of my favorite colors. I figured, for a sneak peek at the [Lancôme] collection, it felt like the right thing to do.”

The new Jason Wu for Lancome makeup collection features three eye-shadow palettes, a five-pan eye-shadow palette, several nail polish tones and lipsticks in various shades of red, all for prices ranging from $15 to $49. The new line, which happens to be Lancome’s largest cosmetics collaboration with an American designer, will be available exclusively at Nordstrom, just like his Miss Wu range. The only exception is New York, where the new makeup line will be sold at Bergdorf Goodman.
