Designers brought a fascinating array of elegant alternatives which proved that, when it comes to spring fashion, romance will never be out of style. London Fashion Week Spring 2020: Antonio Berardi Collection
Antonio Berardi focused on femininity with a modern vibe for his spring 2020 line, without focusing as much on cocktail dresses as he did in the past seasons. His show notes promoted “a more laissez-faire attitude” and this is exactly what the spring 2020 collection offered. The line brought a myriad of sportswear-inspired sweaters, chic biker jackets and even a few high low dresses.

London Fashion Week Spring 2020: Burberry Prorsum Collection
Designer Christopher Bailey was in a romantic mood when he designed the new Burberry spring 2020 collection. The new line was titled “English Rose”, an appropriate title for the multitude of elegant, ladylike ensembles that oozed softness and tenderness. The line brought chic pencil skirts and romantic dresses in gorgeous tones of rosy pink, mint, mauve, pale yellow or periwinkle blue and several slouchy cashmere jackets and lace coatdressses, which replaced the label’s signature military-inspired trenches for the season. London Fashion Week Spring 2020: Emilia Wickstead Collection
Emilia Wickstead is renowned for her elegant, feminine designs which have enabled her to gather an impressive fan base, which includes the Dutchess of Cambrige and Poppy Delevingne and the new collection for spring 2020 focuses exactly on these aspects. The designer played with volume, bringing a multitude of trapeze shaped dresses, beautifully tailored cropped pants and a few pleated midi skirts. London Fashion Week Spring 2020: John Rocha Collection
Romance dominated the John Rocha spring 2020 show – it was clear from the very beginning. The designer focused on sculpted silhouettes, amazing floral appliques and, perhaps the most surprising addition, plasticized lace, which the designer used to bring an edgy allure to some of the brand’s new designs. Even so, the designer still favors natural fabrics, particularly silk: “I’ve been working with silk for 35 years, there are too many synthetics being used. London Fashion Week Spring 2020: Julien Macdonald Collection
For his spring 2020 collection, designer Julien Macdonald focused on what he knows best: creating elegant gowns with an unmistakable sexy touch. The new line was inspired by the “Strictly Come Dancing” TV show. Once again, the designer used crystals, faceted sequins, glitter and sparkle liberally – it is after all, his signature. Inspired by the “glamorous nightlife of the past”, he brought a multitude of gold and silver color accents and several ethereal soft tones.
