Rachel Roy’s fall 2020 collection was unveiled at the New York Fashion Week as a digital show rather than a regular fashion presentation as the designer apparently felt the need for a change as this way she could satisfy best the needs of those that craved taking a glimpse at her fashion show as soon as it debuted. ‘I thought, why not give something different a shot? We’re always trying to squeeze a handful of editors in the room when there are 5 million people also begging to be in there. With this, I can reach more of our fans and tell the story of the collection in a new way,’ said Rachel Roy in an interview with ifashionstyles.com regarding her show presentation.
The virtual show was captured by the lenses of various cameras featuring different angles to capture all the details from different points, details that made the collection worthy of the highest raves.
Refined opulence was the theme that stood as the muse for the collection and this characteristic was present in each design through the cuts displayed as well as through the digital prints and exquisite embroidery effects that had a glamorous and fierce baroque allure.
Although mostly focused on daywear, Rachel Roy’s fall 2020 collection did put on display some -drum rolls, please!- red-carpet worthy designs capable of making jaws drop. A gorgeous vivid blue floor-length long sleeve dress featuring gorgeous embroidery details on the upper part, a chic tuxedo inspired suit and several midis and short dresses covered the needs of this particular glam niche.
For the urban-chic divas, Rachel Roy’s fall 2020 collection brought back the carrot pants, the palazzo pants and the classic midi skirt. Comfy knits and full-on baroque print pullovers, silk blouses, skinny pant separates, stylish jackets and a cool military-inspired khaki maxi dress all mixed and matched contributed to the feel-good vibe of the collection and gave it a distinct, eye catching look, so no wonder that our eyes were focused on the lineup from beginning to end!
