The world is still in shock after singer Seal and model Heidi Klum decided to issue an official statement confirming the rumors that have been circulating in the media, those regarding an imminent divorce. Apparently, the decision was mutual as Seal shared his feelings over his divorce from Heidi Klum in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, where he revealed that he still loves her. This is far from your average celebrity divorce as usually such a divorce comes with a fierce battle, but it appears that Seal and Heidi are trying to keep things as civil as possible.
The couple who has four children together, decided that their children are a priority and that they will try to remain friends. In the interview given on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, Seal revealed that he and Heidi were also shocked when they reached the conclusion that their marriage isn’t working anymore. He said:
“I think we were shocked because you go into these things with the greatest intentions when you say ‘I Do’ and when you say ‘Till Death Do Us Part’, those vows hold value, they’re not just words, but these things happen… We pretty much said how we feel, I think we made it clear in the release statement, but for the intents and purposes of this show…you just grow apart after a while.”
Seal doesn’t seem to be shy about sharing his feelings about Heidi as he refers to her as ‘this great woman’. He states that he’s grateful that she has given him four incredible gifts, his children, so she is still in his opinion ‘the most wonderful woman in the world’, and that:
“I think our priority was to remain civil, and do this thing with dignity and we still very much love each-other you know..” He also states that: “It’s a shame and of course and to say that neither of us were grieving would be an out and out lie, and I don’t mind telling you that, but, I think the operative here is that we are civil to each other, we both have a tremendous amount of respect and love and we will try and do this with as much dignity as we possibly can; and of course when you have four children you just hope and pray that the rest of the world will respect that you have four children and that their hearts are in steak too.”
When questioned about the reason why he still wears his wedding ring, Seal revealed that he believes that it’s a token of his feelings for Heidi and that he doesn’t believe that by simply removing the ring off your finger you can dissolve a connection between two people. He stated that:
“It’s just pretty much a token of how I feel about this woman. We have eight years, eight wonderful years together. Just because we have decided to separate doesn’t necessarily mean you take off your ring and you’re no longer connected to that person. We will be connected in many ways ’til the rest of our lives; through our children and also through this tremendous kind of admiration and respect and love we have for each other. Whether we’ll wear the ring for the rest of our lives, who knows, but right now it feels really comfortable on my hand so I have no intentions of taking it off anytime soon.”
