Are you ready for a new, super-stylish collaboration? If the answer is yes, then just have a nosey at this one-of-a-kind capsule line! “I wanted to mix the DNA of Jason Wu and Canvas together,” Jason Wu says about his latest collection for the famous home furnishings brand. The renowned designer made a special eight-piece collection featuring hand-dyed linen upholstery, metal casegoods, and hand-blown glass accessories. “I’ve always loved the rustic, slightly worn style of Canvas and that element of an artisanal hand. It’s so inherently chic,” Wu added.

Speaking about the collaboration, Wu, who created the collection together with Canvas’s founder, Andrew Corrie, told Vogue magazine that as designer you can use your imagination in so many different ways. “It feels like I’m just filling in the pieces of the puzzle,” says Jason Wu of his new furniture line with Canvas. “I never thought of myself as being limited to fashion. I’m a designer and if you have a vision, you can apply that to anything.”

Andrew Corrie confessed that Wu’s talent gives a ‘glamorous’ touch to all things he creates. Therefore, talking to Vogue about the 29-year-old designer, Corrie said that, “Jason has a spectacular taste level and an eye for detail which lends a wonderfully glamorous feel to everything.”

Their main source of inspiration for the collection were Art Deco designers like Jacques Adnet and mid-century Danish style. Well, besides bronze medallions, hand-waxed finish over vintage blackened metal, and rounded cross bars, the line also includes Wu’s signature handmade lace motif used in order to embroider throw pillows. The collection is characterized by subtle proportions which are “complemented by textural materials and solid construction with each piece made by local craftsmen in the United States.”

This is not Jason Wu’s first adventure into the world of furniture, home accessories, and interior design. The young designer also began a collaboration in 2020 with Brizo Faucets. “Designing interior fixtures is an opportunity to challenge myself and branch out into a new category,” said Jason Wu. “The materials and design considerations are dramatically different than what I am used to with clothing and accessories. This collaboration will require finding a new way to add movement and personality to an otherwise static item.”

The special Jason Wu for Canvas home collection is already available and the pieces are priced between $140 and $4,800.
