When it comes to Zoe Kravitz, no one can deny her unique beauty. Well, who would dare to say something else when knowing who her mom (Lisa Bonet) and dad (Lenny Kravitz) are. The 22-year-old actress looks gorgeous on the cover of Asos magazine, the July 2020 issue. In the interview, Zoe talks about fame and career, her band, her parents and being called an It girl.

“All that ‘it girl’ s*** makes me kind of uncomfortable. I’m only at the beginning of my career, but I feel successful in that I haven’t sold out in any way, shape or form. I feel good about the choices I’ve made, and I don’t feel like I’ve let go of any of my values. Fame has become this obsession for people, which kind of creeps me out,” Zoe says.

Speaking about her career, the ‘X-men: First Class’ actress told the magazine that, “I’m in a very lucky position, because I’ve been around [fame] so long, I don’t feel like I have to chase it.” In ‘X-men: First Class’, Zoe plays butterfly mutant Angel Salvadore. The film that also features January Jones and Jennifer Lawrence is set to be released in June. Zoe mostly appeared in independent films. Yet it seems that it was her leading role in ‘Yelling to the Sky’ the one to make her stand out. “That was a really crazy, amazing experience. It was my first leading role, so it was a real challenge for me as an actor. It was very low budget, we shot it in 18 days, and it was not luxurious, but it was art. The heart and soul that went into making that film was wonderful and I’m proud to be a part of it,” Zoe told Asos.

But besides acting, Zoe also has a band called ‘Elevator Fight’. ‘I just always did it from when I was a kid. I was a drama club geek. And having the band is great, because with acting there are long periods of time when you’re not doing anything, and I don’t like just sitting around, I go crazy,” she told the magazine. On some of her band’s performances seen on the internet and the importance of her name, Zoe says that, “Google will be the end of me. We got a lot of attention as a band at first, but for all the wrong reasons. I don’t like half the songs and performances that are out there because they-re terrible. Two years in and we’ve finally got a group of songs that we really like. We’ve found our sound, which is a little bit more punk and a little more rock.”

Even though her parents divorced when she was five, Zoe is extremely close to both. “I think my parents did a good job of it. We’ve had our ups and downs, but we’ve got to a point where we’re really close and we talk every day and I can literally tell them everything, which is great,” she admits.

What about her particular style? “I used to be a little embarrassed by how she and my dad would dress…but now I steal their clothes all the time. My dad has totally taken my Cat Stevens T-shirt, but it’s OK, I have this Black Flag one and that’s amazing,” Zoe told in the interview with Asos.

As for her mom, everyone knows that Lisa Bonet was the boho babe that made vintage fashion look stylish and chic. “And my mum… There’s this little vintage store where she lives in Topanga Canyon [California] called Hidden Treasures. It’s just a local spot, but we’ve been living there forever, so my mum will often donate her stuff. She took a bunch of stuff down while I was away and I went there when I got back and bought five of her things. I got home and I was like, ‘I can’t believe I just paid for your clothes!’ Out of everything in the store, I’d bought my mother’s things,” Zoe says.
